Just A Creative Rhyme Scheme!
You listen to preachers preach.
You love to hear public speakers speak.
When your in my presence you feel the words of my poems deep in your soul,
But when you leave you continue to live a life of turmoil.
My words are more than words, they are gifts from God that connect to your heart.
And when your in that presence you claim that your going to make a change, and a fresh and better start.
You give me a round of applause when I say I live for God,
And a standing ovation when I say we as a people need to bond as one.
You love to hear me create creative rhyme schemes that coincide with life, politics, and our history.
You love to hear me create creative rhyme schemes that coincide with life, religion, and being strong mentally.
You love to hear me create creative rhyme schemes that coincide with struggle and the fight.
Rhyme Schemes that make you feel nice, touched, alive, and free.
Or make you feel like you can do or be what ever you want to be.
You love to hear me create creative rhyme schemes
That talk about the blood that our Savior shed for you and me,
And how He is the way, the truth, the light, and the only way to eternity.
O you really love when create creative rhyme schemes that talk about the man behind the unknown surname X, M.L. King, the Middle Passage, and African slavery.
You love creative rhyme schemes about sit ins and strikes, shackles and chains,
Whipped backs, divided homes, and African countries that were dethroned,
Because you say the younger generation needs to know.
But I’m sick and tired of people shouting, and crying.
I’m sick and tired of people listening and thinking, but never practicing what I’m preaching.
It frustrates me to know end when I speak about how demeaning the word Nigga is,
Or how we should stop calling our queens bitches,
And learn how to historically, religiously, and mentally strengthen our children.
Yet, I walk out to see the same people who were praising me shake a hand and say wussup my nig.
Grab a girl, and say that’s my down ass bitch,
And knock a little brothers AR book into a ditch,
And respect him for his athletics, but not the grades he gets.
Do you think stomping your feet and clapping your hands is enough?
Do you think praising my words will make people, our race or this world less corrupt?
I need more than a handclap, because this aint about my fame.
I need more than a holler, because now is the time to change.
I need more.
More from you, and more from myself,
Because this is just a creative rhyme scheme.
I need action taken by those in position of power!
I need black men to stop depending on women and acting like cowards.
We as men are supposed to lead our race.
So take your positions back, because a cool creative rhyme scheme can’t do that.
I know you love these ballads and lyrics,
But we have to take action if we want to stay in existence.
We are in a situation that needs guidance.
So please, no more shouting, hollering, and crying,
If your gonna’ sit back and aid in My race’s dying!
My creative consciousness and satirical comments,
Combined with silhouettes outlining soliloquies,
That create your mind to become entangled and intertwined,
With thoughts, and views that coincide with mine,
At least for that time that I’m reciting that rhyme Is not enough!
It’s only a creative rhyme scheme.
We need to stop praising rappers and poets,
And start raising Revolutionaries, who will put the movement in motion.
It’s time that we stop this homicide, genocide, and even homosexualism because we have to reproduce.
We have to reap life and make sure that our seeds bare fruit.
This is not about a creative rhyme scheme,
So now I stop the time for rhyme in this poem,
Because now I have your attention.
My people. God’s People.
Please take heed to these words and do more than listen but act upon them,
Because these rhyme schemes won’t change the world.
Only the act of men whose souls are connected with God.
So get your mind right.
Get your life right. And fix this problem before the next generation see’s life.
Because this is just a creative rhyme scheme.
